Substantial progress is found in the collaboration between Chinese and Germany Academy in the field of laser processing, since SJTU (Shanghai Jiao Tong University) and Germany partners started the ChinLas Project in 2004. Recently Germany partners and SJTU agreed on an international research cooperation project about laser additive manufacturing (SIGLAM). As part of the research promotion, Shanghai Key Laboratory of Materials Laser Processing and Modification (MLPM) of SJTU hosts the China-German Laser Processing Workshop 2018 (LPW2018) on October 25th, 2018 at MLPM, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. LPW2018 deals with the advanced laser processing technologies, specially including additive manufacturing and laser micro-processing technologies. MLPM of SJTU invited experts from German and China to present their new research achievement in laser processing related field, and MLPM of SJTU warmly welcomes researchers, engineers and students to participate LPW2018.
